Go Native! A Native American Cultural Celebration

Sequoia Riverlands Trust and Visit Visalia present Go Native! A Native American Cultural Celebration.

This event is FREE and open to the public. Learn about the Yokuts Tribe and their art and culture including pine needle baskets, gathering trays, cradleboards, walnut dice, tule ducks, drumming, and fish traps.  

Schedule of Events:

Opening Ceremony and Cultural Blessing, Drumming, History of the Yokuts Tribe

Weaving demonstrations, classes, LUNCH featuring Indian Tacos

Children's Activities, demonstrations, more classes

Hike around Kaweah Oaks Preserve, a 344-acre nature preserve, that protects one of the last remaining valley oak riparian forests in the San Joaquin Valley.

How to get to Kaweah Oaks Preserve

Kaweah Oaks Preserve is located seven minutes east of Visalia, California. Travel seven miles east of downtown Visalia via Highway 198, then turn north on Road 182; go one-half mile. The parking lot is on the west (left) side of the road. Enter through the kiosk and gate to enter the preserve.
