It's America's birthday and we want to celebrate! Celebrate the July 4th Holiday in Visalia and show your spirit by checking out these festive events and activities.

Watch the Fireworks Extravaganza at the Rawhide Baseball Game at Valley Strong Stadium.

The team is back and the season is in full-swing! They are celebrating Independence Day with their Red, White and Baseball Spectacular on July 4 that includes post-game fireworks sponsored by Budweiser and the City of Visalia. The first 250 fans get a free pint glass from Budweiser! Get your tickets in advance

Join the fun at the Great American 5K and 10K Run.

The Great American Race is presented by Forever Young Events. Kick off July 4th with a 5K or 10K run and Costume Contest. This takes place at Riverway Sports Park and along the paved trails along the St. John's Trail. Enjoy food, music, race photos and more.

Not a runner? It's OK. Bring a lawn chair and cheer on the runners. Enjoy the music of GenFM with their 4th of July playlist created just for the race. Hot Dogs and drinks will be available to purchase.

Register Early.

Visit Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks.

There is nothing more patriotic than a trip to our national parks. See the General Sherman Tree, the largest living tree on earth, head deep into Kings Canyon for a look at one of the deepest canyons in north America, or take a hike to Tokopah Falls, Eagle's View or around Crescent Meadow.

Paddle a canoe.

Although the blueberry season is just finished, there are still fun activities at The Big L Ranch. July is the perfect month for paddling along the river on a lazy afternoon. They are open for boat rentals 7 days a week from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm. Enjoy a fun paddle on the Lower Kaweah when you visit the ranch.

Head to the Lake for a day of water fun.

Kaweah Lake is a great spot for water activities. Rent a patio boat and spend the day floating, swimming and sunning. Boats are available from the Kaweah Marina for rent but book early as this will be a popular spot.

Take a picnic to one of Visalia’s many local parks.

Mooney Grove is the first county park in California and offers lots of Arbors for a picnic. There is lots of wide-open space for a game of tag or frisbee or whatever tradition your family has for the July 4th holiday. Kids will love the play structures, searching for the Log Cabin or feeding the ducks. The lagoon is stocked with fish (license required) and is a great place to teach kids how to cast a line.

Fireworks from the Rawhide Game at Valley Strong Stadium can be viewed from Recreation Park just outside the ball park. Bring some lawn chairs and a picnic dinner and enjoy!
