Once you've explored the park, make your way back to Visalia where you can recharge for day 2. No doubt you've worked up quite the appetite. Dickey's Barbecue will satisfy anyone's hunger. While you're right on Main Street, it's your perfect chance to experience Authentic Visalia with the Historic Downtown Walking Tour.

King's Canyon National Park may not be as well-known as Sequoia or Yosemite, but the views here are second to none. Stops at the General Grant Tree and Roaring River Falls are almost mandatory. One of the most amazing views you'll ever see comes as a reward for hiking to Buena Vista Peak. Stop to catch your breath only to have it taken away again at the vista. Other beauty lies below ground here as well, as Boyden Cavern tours reward you with otherworldly rock formations.

After making your way through King's Canyon, head up to to Oakhurst, where you'll be at the doorstep to Yosemite National Park. 

Make your way from Oakhurst up to the southern entrance to Yosemite National Park. If you're feeling the need for a spot of time travel before you enter the park, stop at Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad and ride a century-old steam train through the Sierra National Forest. You're only minutes away from the park entrance here, so continue on through the gates. You have a choice, head to the right for the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoia. While you'll want to see iconic spots in the valley like Tunnel View, Bridal Veil Fall, Yosemite Falls and The Ahwahnee. For an authentic experience, visit Wawona Pioneer Village. You'll experience the true history of the park, which has a storied past to the frontier era and beyond.
