CDPH COVID-19 Community Based Testing Opportunity.
Event organizers can can enter into an MOU with CDPH to provide testing kits (PRC or antigen testing) for employees or the public
- Test results for PRC are typically 24-48 hours
- Interested parties can register on the state website. There is an 8 step process and the State must approve them (usually takes 5 days).
- Billing can be absorbed by employers or covered by insurance - if absorbed by the business the cost is $55/test
- Individuals registering for the test do it through Color and are asked for insurance info and drivers license.
- State provides kits, processing, and results
- These are self-administered tests
- Event organizer is responsible for coordinating transportation of used tests.
- It takes about 3-5 days to get the test kits delivered
- Tests must be stored at room temperature. The shelf life of an unused kit is about a year.
- Kits can be ordered in boxes of 100 or 500
- Antigen tests (Rapid test - results in 15 min) are available, but it must be approved by the State (same process).
