10 FUN THINGS TO DO FOR HALLOWEEN IN VISALIA CALIFORNIA

1. Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze

It wouldn't be Fall without a visit to the Pumpkin Patch and Corn Maze. Vossler Farms is a Visalia fall must-do. They are open from September 24, 2022 and through October 31. Families can enjoy the pumpkin patch, enormous corn maze (and one for the littles too), Carnival games, including a Giant Slide, and lots of photo ops. Of course food trucks are on site to help fuel the fun. Come out to The Patch and enjoy some great food! 


2. Dia de los Muertos

Honor your ancestors at the Dia de los Muertos on October 22 from 12:00- 5:00 at the Visalia Public Cemetery. Free entertainment provided by local opera singers, Chicano singer-songwriters, and folklorico dancers. Ticketed Cemetery Tour- All aboard on "The Time Traveling Trolley Tour" narrated by Alabaster Snowball of the Elvengers. Alabaster will be your tour guide through the cemetery. The ancestors have an important message to share with the valley. Stories include Visalians from the 1800s.



3. More Dia de los Muertos

Other Dia de los Muertos events to celebrate your ancestors include The Tulare Kings Hispanic Chamber's event on Church Street in Downtown Visalia on Friday, October 28 from 5:30 - 10:00. The event includes food booths, beer garden, and live music. On Saturday, October 29 from 11:00 - 4:00 at the Visalia Public Cemetery, the Tulare County League of Mexican American Women host their event.

4. Halloween Pub Crawl

It's time to eat, drink and be scary at the Halloween Pub Crawl! Gather your friends on October 22 from 4:30 - 9:00 for this costume highly-encouraged event that has games, contests and prizes. Tell your witches or grab your boo because this event will be a spooktacular Pub Crawl through downtown Visalia's brewery district. 


5. Field of Screams

Hiding in the Corn Maze along the haunted trail are all kinds of scary creatures just waiting to pop out and scare visitors. They only come out at night 10 times in October - weekends from 7:00 - 10:00. If you really want a fright night, head to Vossler Farms Field of Screams.

 

6. Mystery at the Darling Hotel

For a one-of-a kind dinner and hotel experience that will transport you back to a time of science fiction and superstition, book a seating for a Mystery at the Darling. Twists and turn will be around every corner that may lead you to an indefinite boundary of fantasy and reality. There are two seatings per day on October 28 and 29 but you need to reserve quickly. And to really get into the experience, guests are strongly encouraged to dress in their best 1950-1960s attire. 


7. Movies at the Fox - Hocus Pocus

The Fox Theatre Visalia will host a movie night showing Hocus Pocus on Friday, October 28 at 7:00 PM. This interactive event will have prizes for best costumes as well as special Trick-or-Treats. Doors open at 6:00 and entry is just $5 per person. 


8. Tim Burton's A Nightmare Before Christmas

There's a chill in the air and there's candy to be collected at Valley Strong Ballpark! Watch Tim Burton's A Nightmare Before Christmas Saturday, October 29. Gates open and the fun begins at 5:30 with a costume parade at 6:00. Gather the ghouls and boys to watch this Halloween classic, trick or treat with local businesses, win prizes, and more! Costumes are encouraged but not required! 


9. The Source Halloween Bash

The Source LGBT+ Center is hosting their first-ever Halloween Bash. Join the fun on October 29 from 6:30 - 11:00 PM at the Bello Vita Venue for a night filled with giveaways, a costume contest, music, dancing, drinks, and more. Dress to SLAY. Bring your fave boos! Less formal than a Gala, but more upscale than a club — The Source's Halloween Bash is going to be the spookiest, creepy-crawliest, liveliest night in town!


10. Village Halloween at Imagine U Children's Museum

Bring the kiddos to ImagineU Children's Museum for its annual Village Halloween on October 31 from 3:00 - 6:00. If you have young children you will like that it's a FREE, safe and fun way for young children to experience trick-or-treating. ImagineU is transformed into a festive village, complete with lots of doors to knock on. Don't forget your costumes and candy bags!
