WHAT'S OPEN NOW

We know it can be a challenge to find out what is open and available when traveling. So to help with planning your next big adventure, we are working with our partners to provide up-to-date information on hotels, restaurants and attractions. We also offer helpful things to know when traveling to our area.

Visit Visalia is encouraging everyone to follow public health authorities’ recommendations as a way to keep visitors and our community healthy.

Basic Visalia Safety Measures

We join you in a desire to return to our regular lives but recognize that extra precautions will be necessary for some time.  Our pledge is a shared commitment with you
to keep each other healthy.

By following recommended public health guidelines and showing our respect to the people around us, we can minimize the spread of COVID-19 and keep our doors open. Together we will take the precautions necessary for all of us to stay safe.

All of Visalia’s lodging businesses are open for travelers. With your safety in mind, they are taking extra measures to ensure safe and clean hotels such as providing frequent disinfection of commonly touched surfaces and removing non-essential items from guest rooms. Many hotels also offer flexible booking should travel plans change. To see a list of Visalia lodging properties or to book your room, CLICK HERE.  Please contact lodging businesses directly to learn more about their service levels and room availability.

Currently many restaurants are offering outdoor dining, takeout, and delivery service. We have updated our restaurant listings to include restaurants that offer outdoor seating. Please call ahead to reserve a table. We encourage visitors to contact the business you would like to visit, in advance, to determine their level of service. See Visalia restaurant listings for what is open for dining.

Customers are allowed for in-store shopping, within certain parameters. Many shops and boutiques offer curbside pickup and delivery, and will even ship directly to you. See HERE for ideas.

Our list of top local attractions will help you quickly find out what is open during your stay. There are many other things to see and do when you visit Visalia. Start your vacation planning on our THINGS TO DO page.

Sequoia National Forest: Many areas of the national forest are open but some are closed due to the SQF fire that has impacted some areas of the forest. Although roads may be open, recreating may not be available. Also, some areas like the Trail of 100 Giants will close due to snow in the winter - about mid-November. Check the forest's website for updated information.

Developed recreation areas (campsites) will have a staggered opening but trails, trail heads, and general forest areas remain open for public use. Bathrooms, visitor kiosks and campsites may not be available so plan accordingly.
